AMINO MASS is a food supplement of whey protein Optipep^® DH11, developed for the most demanding sportsmen. Whey proteins are a protein source with high biological value (VB = 104) and a high content of branched chain amino acids. For this product, Eurosup has chosen to exclusively use only Optipep^® DH11, a product produced in Ireland by Carbery from grass fed cattle. Optipep^® DH11 is a hydrolyzed whey protein isolate of very high quality, characterized by a high degree of hydrolysis. The hydrolysis process produces shorter peptide chains than the starting protein, making the amino acids contained readily available. Vitamin B6 contained in AMINO MASS contributes to the normal metabolism of proteins and glycogen and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Peptides are a class of compounds consisting of an extremely variable chain of amino acids joined together through a peptide (or carboamidic) bond.

The shorter peptides are the dipeptides, consisting of two amino acids joined by a single peptide bond; polypeptides consisting of a few units are commonly referred to as oligopeptides. The di and tripeptides have molecular weights lower than 500 daltons. In the digestive system there are specific transporters for the small chains of amino acids, and mainly peptides, which make this type of peptide easy to absorb, compared to free form amino acids and longer chain peptides or intact proteins.

OPTIPEP^® 80DH11 contains as much as 29% of peptides with a molecular weight of less than 500 daltons, therefore of and rapidly absorbed peptides.
