CARNO TAB is a Carnosine food supplement. Carnosine is a peptide naturally formed by the body during the digestion of protein-rich foods. Present in good quantities in muscle and brain tissue, it takes part in the contraction of various muscles and tissues. Two of the most interesting properties of carnosine are the buffer effect on lactic acid produced in muscles during physical activity and the control and reduction of glycation (non-enzymatic glycosylation). An excess of lactic acid can inhibit athletic performance, while protein glycation consists in the binding of some sugars, intracellular and extracellular, to proteins. This bond generates altered and non-functioning molecules, called glycotoxins, or AGE (“Advanced Glycated End Product”). The glycation products form abnormal bridges between one molecule and another, binding to specific receptors. These bonds lead to an accumulation within the tissues, with consequent functional alteration and destruction of the tissues themselves. This link between sugars and proteins is a biological factor that affects the aging of cells, tissues and therefore the organism. Longevity cannot exist without a reduction in this metabolic process. CARNO TAB does not contain ingredients of animal origin and is also suitable for vegans.
