MUSCLE REPO is a food supplement with sweeteners with a high protein content, formulated for use after sporting activity. MUSCLE REPO proteins are from whey protein isolate and hydrolysate, of the highest quality and quickly assimilable. Each serving provides 27g of protein, which contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. The carbohydrates supplied by MUSCLE REPO are from maltodextrins, waxy corn starch and highly branched cyclic dextrins, to help restore the energy reserves consumed during physical activity. Carbohydrates in fact contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function after intense and/or prolonged physical exercise which leads to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscles (the beneficial effect is obtained by consuming carbohydrates from all sources equal overall to 4 g per kg of body weight, with an intake in doses to start within the first 4 hours following physical exercise and to be concluded within 6 hours following such exercise). L-glutamine is an amino acid involved in the process of muscle recovery and regeneration. Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid in which the cell membranes in the brain are particularly rich, it counteracts the formation of cortisol, a hormone which, if it is secreted in excess, promotes protein catabolism, fatigue of the body and delays recovery. Acetyl L-carnitine can protect against oxidative damage induced by intense physical activity, has an important role as a mitochondrial transporter of fatty acids, supports the synthesis of important neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine. Magnesium supports the physiological energy metabolism. Zinc contributes to normal carbohydrate and fatty acid metabolism, and together with magnesium contributes to normal protein synthesis. Magnesium, as well as pantothenic acid and vitamin B6, also help reduce tiredness and fatigue, while vitamin C contributes to maintaining the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical effort (the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg in addition to the recommended daily intake of vitamin C) and the protection of cells from oxidative stress, thus protecting muscle tissue from damage caused by free radicals.
